Technical draft for the website, apps and Apple purchase beta — updated 14 October 2026.

Draft · Operator review and additions are pending.

Controller and contact

Jonas Feldmann, c/o Online-Impressum 10756, Europaring 90, 53757 Sankt Augustin, Germany. Contact: info@talkfeather.com. These details were taken from industrygo.de at the operator’s request; coverage of this service address for TalkFeather still needs confirmation.

Local audio and AI

Recording, transcription and optional text cleanup run on your device. The current app code does not upload recordings or dictation to the TalkFeather backend for this processing. Text you intentionally paste into other apps or send to support is also subject to those services’ processing. Local processing does not mean that accounts, purchases or model downloads work without internet.

Microphone and local storage

The operating system requests microphone access. The directly distributed Mac app also needs Accessibility access for automatic paste. Permissions can be changed in system settings. Settings, models and credentials are stored locally; credentials use the app’s secure storage. Device backups and removal of local data also depend on the operating system. Exact retention of temporary recordings remains to be checked before approval.

Accounts and licenses

Account sign-in processes your email address, one-time code, internal account/session identifiers and license status. The backend stores a code verification value and session/entitlement data. With Apple purchases enabled, buying and restoring do not require a TalkFeather account; linking your own TalkFeather account for intended access on other platforms is optional. Regular builds retain their existing account checks.

Apple purchases and TestFlight

Apple handles Store purchases and payment data under its own terms. Purchase verification processes signed transactions, product and transaction identifiers, status, timestamps and a pseudonymous purchase identity between the app, TalkFeather backend and Apple. Optional linking stores the association with your TalkFeather account. Sandbox and production use separate configurations. Under its TestFlight terms, Apple may share diagnostic, crash and feedback data with Apple and the developer. Do not submit confidential dictation for these tests.

Model downloads and recipients

Models are not bundled with the app. Download hosts configured in the app may receive necessary connection data such as your IP address and requested file. Before approval, the operator must confirm model hosts, CDN/hosting and mail providers, their roles, processing countries and any international transfer safeguards. No specific country or legal transfer protection is assumed here.

Website and browser storage

The website code uses system fonts and no marketing trackers. Language and appearance preferences are saved locally and can be changed on the website or removed in browser settings. Illustrative examples do not activate the microphone or upload audio. If website sign-in is enabled, its adapter processes email and one-time codes; necessary HttpOnly cookies support sessions and protection against forged requests. This feature is off by default in source.

Operations, support and legal bases to review

Website/API servers process necessary connection data, such as IP address, time and requested resource. Support processes information you send and email metadata. Actual providers, log fields, purposes, legal bases and legitimate interests must still be confirmed against TalkFeather operations. The proposed allocation is contractual performance for account/license functions and service protection for security measures; this is not operator approval.

Deletion and retention

The app offers account deletion with fresh email verification. See “Delete account” for instructions and subscription consequences. Active account records are removed after API confirmation. Actual retention of backups, server/mail logs, support messages and any purchase records subject to legal retention still needs operator determination; no arbitrary period is promised.

Your rights

Subject to the GDPR, rights include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Where processing relies on consent, it can be withdrawn for the future. Contact info@talkfeather.com. You may also complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority, any data protection officer, required-data notices and a final review of automated decisions remain to be added.

Pending approval

This draft is not yet a complete operator-reviewed privacy policy. The missing operational information above must be completed and reconciled with Apple privacy disclosures before using it as the Store privacy URL.
